Sonoran Ocotillo Upgrades to a Larger Showroom Space

With help with our coaching and capital program, AVANZA, Sonoran Ocotillo will expand its business reach with a new, large showroom.

David Molina's journey with ocotillo began with a family legacy. His uncle had founded a thriving cross-border ocotillo business. When his uncle unexpectedly passed away, David's father stepped in to fulfill existing orders.

Feeling a profound connection with ocotillo, David decided to explore the venture further. In 2017, he began selling these unique native plants online. His distinctive marketing approach and business strategy proved successful, leading to a significant surge in sales over the next two years.

In 2019, David, along with his sister Miriam and father Lauro, formalized Sonoran Ocotillo, an ocotillo import business based in Tucson. Since its inception, they have undertaken various projects, including collaborations with Texas Roadhouse and the renowned Joshua Tree House.

Following their participation in the City of Tucson Small Business Navigator, Sonoran Ocotillo has plans to move to a large showroom and expand business reach with help from AVANZA.
